Isn’t it about time humour was allowed in the NFL?

You may not be aware, but there are a whole host of names that can’t be worn on the back of custom-made NFL shirts because they are deemed ‘offensive’.

They have a whole list of names that you can’t have on official shirts and that includes MEXICO.

And it’s all down to Michael Vick, QB cum running man for the Falcons who turned up in court under the assumed name of Ron Mexico. I think a bit of humour goes a long way (anyone who has seen an England shirt with P Neville on the back knows what I mean) but the NFL don’t seem to think so.

For the not-so-squeamish, the full list can be found at http://www.outsports.com/nfl/2005/0301nflshopnaughtywords.htm
