Rain! Thunder! Lightening! Hail!

What great weather this evening!
Spectacular after spending a very nice day in Munich.
At least the pond is full …

Krups

I got a new espresso and filter coffee machine the other day.
High quality German engineering delivering Italian style coffee from Costa Rican beans.
Hardly food, but if you need a machine you could do worse than this one.

And That’s It!!!!!

We had a great day at the New Wembley, watching Derby beat WBA 1-0.
It’s a great stadium, if a little sterile. They made a mess of the ticketing arrangements, leaving some 15,000 glaringly red seats empty. But what we did see was a good natured bunch of stewards, both sets of fans having [...]

Play Off Final Day

After what seems like weeks and minutes all at the same time, it’s finally here.
It’s raining, there are 6 of us to arrange and organise, and the pitch is likely to cut up.
Yesterday we went to Pride Park to see the team off. Not something I’d think of doing but, well, you know, it’s [...]

It’s Raining

Will it ever stop?
It’s been a strange couple of days with the rain. Or should that be The Rain?
I’m sure the garden appreciates it, but the garden is hard to appreciate through glass.

Bank Holiday Weekends

Managed to get into the garden for several hours today. The playhouse is down, plants are in, garden mulched and grass cut.
Now it’s raining which will make getting the fire pit going a challenge. But it’s a Bank Holiday so it’s going to happen one way or another!
I saw a toad this morning [...]

Milan Win Big Cup

Not a good game but Milan won the cup over the reds from Liverpool.
If it was left to Sky and ITV I reckon the reds would be up for sainthood by now. I’ve never heard such fawning and praise over such an inadequate side.
Great second goal from Milan and that made it worth watching!
But [...]

Pond Life

Our pond is teaming with wildlife at the moment. Loads of frogs (grren and gold ones), tadpoles, damsel flies, water bugs, plants, everything that you could wish for.
Except for one thing.
I was admiring a frog this evening contemplating the wonderful design of the little beastie when I swallowed a fly. Not a nice [...]

What a marvellous night …

for a blat on the bike.
Dry, warm, not a lot of traffic.
Find a nice sweeping road and just amble along at less-then-stupid-speeds with a massive grin on your face.
Wonder if I can get out tomorrow? Should be quiet with the football on …

Sunday Lunch

If you are heading out towards Shipston on Stour, make a call in to the White Lion in Treddington.
Good beer, good atmosphere and good food.
Thick slices of roast pork with excellent crackling made this recovering veggie very happy.
Try it - you’ll like it!
