Hope all of you (or at least the 2 or 3 readers I know of) have a safe, enjoyable and merry Christmas.
I’m surrounded by toys and coughing and spluttering family members which is great as I feel like one of the crowd!

How is it that shops can put together Christmas gifts that all look the same but you still have no idea about how they will be received.

The Rose and Crown in Warwick has just delivered a superb festive menu.
Go there soon - the normal menu is excellent - and enjoy!
It’s on the Market Place next to the statue of the boxer whose name escapes me.

It’s great!
Mulled wine, sausages, pancakes, waffles, doughnuts, gifts, garbage, nuts, Germans and all for a few quid.
It’s a great experience and very funny to be in the middle of it.
I spent about 10 Euros and had a fantastic time even in the cold and light drizzle.
Highly recommended!

We went to see the Arctic Monkeys last night at the Ally Pally in London.
Again they were brilliant. They played a different selection of songs so avoided that ’same again’ feeling.
They are maturing as a band and played a really energetic set.

Just because you are traveling in Row 1 and wearing very expensive watch, glasses, shirt and blazer doesn’t make you a good traveller.

According to USA Today (you can tell I’m at an airport again), the Magna Carta is one of the most important artifacts of Democracy.
Quite how a bunch of Barons telling a King to get stuffed is Democracy in Action is beyond me.
Sticking a King on the chopping block is a bit more democratic I suppose [...]

I was sat in a hotel bar/ restaurant last night having a bite to eat when I noticed that they were playing Christmas Tunes over the (quiet) sound system.
The thing that struck me, after I’d noticed and confirmed that I wasn’t shopping in Tesco, was that the vast majority of the songs were British. [...]
