Queen’s Park, Chesterfield
I went to watch Derbyshire and Surrey in Pro-40 cricket action today and it was delightful.
Queen’s Park is really perfect for cricket - and old pavilion, knowledgable crowd, lots of refreshments, trees and a brass band.
If you can, get there and watch a game.
Just don’t expect to see a great Derbyshire side. Efficient or worthy they may be, but the days of fast bowling of note from Holding, Mortenson, Hendrik, etc. or batting from Wright, Kirsten, Barnett or Morris are long gone.
But it’s still a great Summer Sunday out.
