A Win – At Last!

Well, today saw a performance that was a delight and a rarity. For the first half, Derby destroyed Coventry City. They played simple, incisive football. They created chances. They were magnificent. Not 1972 vintage, but the up there with the best performances of this Millennium.
Gary Teale and Robbie Savage, derided [...]

To clarify the previous post …

This younish bloke was waiting to board a plane. His iPod was so loud you could hear the music from a couple of metres away. When he spoke to anyone he shouted, the volume was louder than the braying woman on the bus to the plane and he was even audible on the [...]

Too Loud!

When I can hear the music in the ears of the bloke 6 metres away you know it’s too loud.

Man United – again – possibly

So the inevitable happens. Derby are denied a win by a couple of brilliant saves on Friday night, so we play Florist again. That’s twice in February – before we could face the return against Man U. Strange how things come around again in football.

All of the Pensioners bleating about increased winter fuel payments have, unfortunately, been the masterminds or at least the foot soldiers of their own misfortunes.
Back in the day, the people of Britain voted in a series of Conservative governments who sold the family silver in terms of gas and electricity industries. They also shut [...]

World Champions? Not yet …

Oh what fun we had! A cold Wednesday night in Derby transformed from fear and loathing to delight and joy. Amazing how football affects your whole mood.
Looking back, it’s all a matter of perspective. I’ve nailed my colours to the mast as a fan of Jewell. I was disappointed he left [...]

Chargers Shock Broncos – now for the Squealers

Despite their lack of consistency, passive defense and hit-and-miss performances for much of the season, the Chargers finally came through in December going a perfect 4-0. On Saturday they went one better by winning the first pay-off game against a strong Indianapolis side. It was close but that is play-off football. Ultimately, [...]
