Downloads and Control

I’m a mug for music and films and books. I like to own them and read the bits on the covers and stuff so I tend to buy stuff then transfer it to my iPod or whatever. I can’t remember downloading anything illegal and I don’t recall watching any pirated movies or stuff like that. [...]

Bernie – you are a cock

Bernie Ecclestone sticking his nose in to the Renault situaion is a joke. Reducing the case to one of race fixing is a sparking case of people missing the point.
In case he can’t remember people get killed and injured in motorsports. Spectators and marshalls and drivers all stand a chance of being injured despite the [...]

Starbucks

It gets a bad press from time to time and I wish they’d get back to fresh grind and manual machines like in the day but I like their sandwiches.
The Spanish big lunch is a killer for an Anglo Saxon so a decent butty is a welcome change from another poor imitation.

Music fits the venue

In Starbucks and over the air comes The Cult with ’she sells sanctuary’. How good is that?
Starbucks has something of a cult about it (committed fans for one thing and increasing numbers) and it is a sanctuary of sorts as a Brit in a foreign land (how does American chain offer Brit comfort?). Maybe [...]

Waking up surprised

I keep waking up and realising I’m in Spain which causes a short shock to the system. How long before that feeling stops do you suppose?

Prejudice and Fear

I was reading somewhere a debate about multicultural issues and someone expressed the view that they had views about people of a different ethnicity that strongly influenced where he lived and what he did.
It made an interesting read and prompted me to have a think about what encourages thoughts like that.
It seems to [...]
