Morten Anderson finally retires

The kickingest player in NFL history has retired aftr 25 years in the NFL. He’s scored the most points ever and is over 100 points ahead of his closest rival.
Great career for the lad from Copenhagen. Well done, and enjoy your retirement.

Sorry for not posting!

GTP has closed down, so I’ve been working on setting up a wide-ranging sports/ current affairs/ stuff forum to replacesome parts of it. Towards the end, there was a split between those who wanted a pure Sports board and one that was comfortable covering life.
So, the lightning lounge is here, and growing.
If [...]

Demise of GTP and rise of boltbuker.com and thelightninglounge.com

GTP, or Glorify the Past, the best damn Chargers site ever, has closed down. After years of effort and good times, Scott has closed the doors and turned out the lights.
So, two sites have emerged from the ashes – www.boltbunker.com and www.thelightninglounge.com
The first is a pure Sport site, with room for fun. The [...]

NFL Draft Again

Another year, another draft.
This year was much faster than previous years, with reduced time on the clock for selections.
The Bolts have selected according to ‘type’ again, looking for talented players rather than physical specimens. They seem to have got talent, adaptability anf the only question is over how they will develop and how one [...]

Maybe I could have [...]

Superbowl Over

The Giants beat the Patriots, which was a surprise. Some great play if not a score-fest.
Watching with a German commentry made for a strange feeling, as did the absence of adverts.
What is worse is that German TV are now showing footage of a train journey with a camera strapped to the front of the [...]

Superbowl

It’s tomorrow. I’ll be in Germany.
I can’t see the Giants beating the Pats – and I’d rather that Junior Seau wins a ring.
Here’s hoping!

Multi-sport Musings

It’s all been a bit mad on the Sporting front. The NFL Conference Play-offs happened and despite a brave (and injured – three key players injured and struggling) effort the Patriots beat the Chargers. All a bit depressing except for the way the Bolts have improved during the season and the competitive spirit [...]

Spectator Fest

This weekend I managed to watch football (Derby) and rugby (Nottingham) ‘live’, in the flesh and then watched a few games (parts of all four) NFL play-off games.
The rugby was really fun, although I expect the openness at National Division 1 or whatever it is comes from teams not being quite as good as their [...]
